From the director of Pacific Rim, Hellboy and The Hobbit, comes a new ripple of gore at its finest; a spellbinding start of TV series ‘The Strain’. Guillermo Del Toro, along with co-writer Chuck Hogan, have composed this brilliant Vampire trilogy. But let me tell you; it’s not the romanticized version people talk of. The pilot episode has been very captivating to curious eyes. This TV series has been adapted by Del Toro’s novel trilogy, ‘The Strain’, co-written with Chuck Hogan. The pilot episode has been directed by Del Toro himself.
The horror series opens with the mysterious landing of a Boeing 777 in New York’s J.F.K airport. When investigated, 200 corpses are found on board, and only four survivors. The situation deteriorates as a viral outbreak occurs, corpses begin disappearing from morgues and signs of vampirism emerge.
The series stars Cory Stoll as Dr Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the Centre for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City, an epidemiologist called in with his team to investigate.
In support roles are David Bradley as Professor Abraham Setrakain, Kevin Durand as Vailiy Fe, Mia Maestro as Dr Nora Martinez and Ben Hyland as Zach Goodweather.
This series is exclusively going to be aired on Star World Premiere HD. The series involves a good number of guts and carnage smeared on the screen. This series is not suitable for weak hearted souls, they might end up barfing on the popcorn tubs with them. It is a very gripping plot with a caboodle of twists. The series has sure changed the whole definition of Vampires being romantic to Vampires killing for blood.
