The first thing that came to my mind after I watched the trailer of the most awaited movie of the year – Bajrangi Bhaijaan, was that it was a sequel of Dabangg 2.
The story (as I could make out from the trailer) is about a little girl across the border who finds herself stranded on the Indian side. And how `Bajrangi` Salman turns Bhaijaan for her and helps her getting back home. One can also see intense actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhai’s love interest in the film – Kareena Kapoor Khan as Rasika, in the trailer. Somewhere in the middle of all this are a couple of songs (specially the song, Selfie le le I think is very catchy!)
When the film’s teaser released a couple of weeks ago, to me it came across as if the story was a big secret that the makers were building up for. And now the three minute trailer, which released on Thursday afternoon, puts out the whole story of Bajrangi Bhaijaan on the table, and so much deja-vu is happening to me. Like the Dabangg series, even in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the director is clearly celebrating ‘Salman Khan’, atleast that’s what I could deduce from the trailer.
For the travel buff that I am, I loved the landscape that the film travels through. From parched Rajasthan deserts to the misty valleys of Kashmir, this was indeed beautiful and one of the highlights for me in the trailer, apart from Bhai ofcourse 😉
All in all, good or bad, it ultimately seems to be a quintessential Salman Khan film. Maybe better than a Bodyguard or a Ready, or even a Dabangg 1 & 2 maybe, but who knows?
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is slated to hit the screens on Eid this year!
